What is genetic testing?

The primary purpose of genetic testing is to detect the risk of diseases in genes. International superstar Angelina Jolie decided to undergo genetic testing due to her grandmother, mother, and aunt being diagnosed with breast cancer. Consequently, a BRCA1 gene mutation was detected, indicating the probability of developing breast cancer was as high as 80%. Therefore, a preventative mastectomy was performed to proactively prevent breast cancer from occurring.

The genetic testing provided by ReBlood is the Affymetrix GeneTitan which is equivalent to the standard of Academia Sinica and National Health Research Institute. Using Asian-specialized 752,281 loci and 24,537 meaningful genes to provide a complete and accurate hereditary risk assessment. This includes testing for 29 cancers, 37 cardiovascular diseases, and 9 degenerative diseases.
